My plan to listen to Sibelius on the long flight from Seattle to Amsterdam was foiled because the plane did not have free WIFI, so I couldn’t use my wireless earphones. I could plug into the plane’s entertainment offerings, so I listened to sleep and classical mixes and Billie Eilish. The sleep mixes didn’t work.
The passport control lines in Amsterdam were well-managed, so we caught our flight to Riga in time. One big worry out of the way. When we arrived in Riga, however, Bill’s suitcase was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, he had PJS and clean undies in his backpack.
We arrived at the elegant Metropole Hotel in Riga and met our guide, Inese, and Bill’s daughter, Marianne, and sister Ann. There are also 3 other travelers on this first leg of the trip who seem very compatible.
