Bill and I have been doing the work to get our hiking legs back, and we were rewarded Sunday morning when we walked the ribbon trail from Hendricks Park. The trail is short, but it has some real ups and downs, and it felt glorious to be fit enough to enjoy it. Along the way we heard woodpeckers and saw shrubs laden with wild currants, an ancient walnut tree with the round green balls of the fall walnuts poking out from its branches. Sunshine lit a waterfall of moss. Someone left a delightful little diorama perched on a stump. A perfect hobbit hole was spotted, but no hobbits or gnomes.
