The last day of our Amtrak journey took us along the Colorado River through the beautiful Ruby Canyon area, which can only be seen by raft or train. Weather was beautiful, and we were able to step outside to take a look around Grand Junction. We arrived at our destination, Glenwood Springs, in time for a leisurely lunch. Bill’s son John and grandson Charlie met us for a happy playground hour, dinner, and a visit to the school where Charlie will go to kindergarten in the fall. The schoolyard was full of exuberant kiddos in costumes, getting ready for an end-of-the year performance.
